Kein Witz: Der Daily Telegraph enth\u00fcllt<\/a>, dass der iranische Pr\u00e4sident Machmud Ahmadinedschad j\u00fcdische Wuzeln hat. Bei der Registrierung zur Wahl hat Ahmadinedschad seinen Pass in die Kameras gehalten. \"Bild<\/p>\n

Der Telegraph hat sich das Dokument vorgenommen und dabei herausgefunden, dass der urspr\u00fcngliche Familienname Sabourjian gehei\u00dfen habe. Dies sei aber ein j\u00fcdischer Name, der „Tuchweber“ bedeute:<\/p>\n

The short note scrawled on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to embrace Islam after his birth.<\/em><\/p>\n

The Sabourjians traditionally hail from Aradan, Mr Ahmadinejad’s birthplace, and the name derives from „weaver of the Sabour“, the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia. The name is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran’s Ministry of the Interior.<\/em><\/p>\n

An diese Enth\u00fcllung schliessen sich nat\u00fcrlich sofort Theorien an, es handele sich bei den anti-israelischen Attacken des Pr\u00e4sidenten<\/a> um kompensatorische Akte eines Konvertiten. J\u00fcdischer Selbstha\u00df?<\/p>\n

Damit w\u00e4re ich vorsichtig, so interessant solche psychologisierenden Deutungen sind – denn die antiisraelische Linie wird ja nicht nur von (m\u00f6glicherweise) Konvertiten wie ihm vertreten (auch der „Moderate“ Rafsandschani ist durch Ausf\u00e4lle gegen Israel auff\u00e4llig geworden). Sie geht auf den Revolutionsf\u00fchrer Chomeini zur\u00fcck und ist Teil der Staatsr\u00e4son geworden.<\/p>\n

Trotzdem: Eine extrem pikante Enth\u00fcllung, falls sie sich als zutreffend erweisen sollte.<\/p>\n

The Telegraph newspaper reveals that president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appears to have Jewish antecedents, back in the 1940s when the family was still called Sabourjian (makers of Jewish shawls). This discovery was made via a photograph of his identity card, There have been many conversions from Judaism to Islam, many of them voluntary. In the real world people get all mixed up. Iran has the largest Jewish community in the Middle East aside from Israel itself. In the 19th century there were forced conversions of Jews to Shiism in the eastern city of Mashhad. Since converts intermarry with the majority community, this means that many Mashhadis have a Jewish great grandfather and may not know it. It isn’t just Iran. One genetic study found that some 20% of the Spanish had Jewish haplotypes and 10% had an Arab ancestry. The revelation in Iran doesn’t change anything; Ahmadinejad does not make his critiques of Israel with reference to his own heritage but on the basis of a radical interpretation of Khomeinist ideology<\/strong>. The latter in its full form is only a little over 40 years old, so for everyone in Ahmadinejad’s age cohort, it is an adopted ideology for those who adhere to it, not an inherited one.<\/em><\/p>\n
