„Hang the DJ! Hang the DJ! Hang the DJ!“ Alles klar? „Burn down the disco! Hang the blessed DJ because the music that they constantly play, it says nothing to me about my life!“ Wie könnte die längst überfällige Tribute-Party für die Smiths anders lauten als Panic Party? Genau das haben sich die beiden Initiatoren des Revolver Club auch gedacht, als sie beschlossen, dass es mal wieder an der Zeit ist: Eine Nacht mit Morrissey schmusen, weinen, tanzen; das Sakko hochkrempeln und die Schulterpolster strammziehen; das Ganze begleitet von stilechtem Retro-Sound von Post Punk bis Britpop, von Billy Bragg bis Buzzcocks, von den Housemartins bis The Jam. Ein musikalisches 80er-Jahre-Massaker also. „Take me out tonight where there’s music and there’s people who are young and alive. I never never want to go home because I haven’t got one anymore.“ Klingt, als sei das Nachtasyl genau der richtige Ort dafür.
